How We Test & Inspect
Understanding How We Grade and Test Every Film Camera
Every film camera listed on our site goes through a detailed inspection and testing process before it’s graded.
Our in-house technicians follow a consistent checklist to make sure every camera performs exactly as it should,
from the first frame to the last.
We start with a full mechanical check, testing shutter speeds, film advance, self-timer, and metering accuracy. Next comes the optical inspection, where viewfinder clarity, mirror alignment, and lens condition are carefully examined. Built-in light meters are verified against a calibrated reference meter to ensure accuracy.
Each camera is then cleaned and serviced, with dust removed, foam seals replaced, and contacts refreshed as needed. Finally, every camera is photographed, reviewed, and signed off before being listed for sale.
