La Ricoh TF-500 o TF-900 è una fotocamera compatta della fine degli anni '80 con messa a fuoco automatica e obiettivo da 35 mm, commutabile a 70 mm tramite un pulsante nella parte superiore. La sua elettronica è piuttosto avanzata per l'epoca, con un LCD ricco di informazioni in alto, che indica un numero di esposizioni disponibili, se la pellicola è codificata DX (e, in tal caso, quale velocità), e se la compensazione dell'esposizione ha stato attivato.

Ha una modalità di scatto continuo, un autoscatto e un pulsante di compensazione del controluce. Il mirino indica una zona di messa a fuoco utilizzando tre simboli, un tratto condiviso con le prime generazioni di fotocamere autofocus ma successivamente abbandonato.
