La Chinon CE-5 era una fotocamera SLR da 35 mm prodotta da Chinon, una delle prime fotocamere con funzionalità di messa a fuoco automatica lenti prodotte per esso. La fotocamera aveva una montatura Pentax K (indicata nelle specifiche come "montatura universale" Chinon) con la quale erano montati i suoi obiettivi. 3 perni di messa a fuoco automatica erano presenti in alto a sinistra della montatura, con cui si interfacciavano gli obiettivi di messa a fuoco automatica. Questi obiettivi con messa a fuoco automatica erano piuttosto pesanti e dipendevano dai loro grandi motori montati sull'obiettivo.
