La Canon EOS 5 (venduta come EOS A2 e A2e negli USA) è una fotocamera SLR da 35 mm con autofocus e esposizione automatica semi-professionale. È stata venduta a partire dal novembre 1992 ed è stata sostituita alla fine del 1998 dalla Canon EOS 3.

La fotocamera disponeva di molte modalità operative, selezionabili dalla ghiera sul lato sinistro della fotocamera. Queste modalità selezionavano se le impostazioni di esposizione fossero impostate automaticamente, semiautomaticamente o completamente manualmente. Questo quadrante fungeva anche da interruttore on/off.
