Si bien es esencialmente similar a la KR-5 original, el 1982 "Super" ofrece algunas mejoras, que incluyen más rápido Opciones de lentes estándar f/1.7 y f/2.0. Si bien todavía está limitada a 1/8 de segundo como la velocidad de obturación más lenta (además de B), la velocidad máxima aumenta a 1/1000 y la máxima sincronización de flash la velocidad es ahora 1/125 seg.
