Olympus presentó la Trip 35 en 1967 y la suspendió, después de una larga producción, en 1984. El nombre Trip es una referencia a su mercado objetivo, personas que querían una cámara compacta y funcional para las vacaciones.
- Lente: 40mm f/2.8 Olympus D. Zuiko (4 elementos, tres grupos).
- Enfoque: Manual por escala, visible a través del visor. La escala superior, visible a través del visor, muestra iconos o foto de rostro (1 m/3'), dos fotos (1,5 m/5'), foto de grupo (3 m/10') e infinito. La escala inferior está calibrada en metros y pies.
- Enfoque cercano: 2,9' (0,9 m).
- Exposición: Programa automático (A) y apertura fija para flash. Nota: si elige una apertura grande para el flash y trabaja con mucha luz, se detiene en consecuencia pero mantiene la velocidad de obturación en 1/40.
- Advertencia de poca luz: si la exposición cae por debajo de 1/40 a f/2.8, el obturador se bloquea y una bandera roja transparente se eleva desde la parte inferior del visor en la configuración A. (Si esto sucede, use el flash).
- Flash: Zapata y terminal de PC.
- Transporte de la película: Ruedecilla.
- Batería: No se necesita ninguna.
